Asus on Wednesday announced that ZenFone 3 Laser (ZC551KL) is now available in India. Priced at Rs. 18,999, the Asus Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL) is now available to buy from Flipkart, where it will be exclusively available for a month, before becoming available offline.

Much like other ZenFone smartphones, the Asus ZenFone 3 Laser runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and features a metal body and a hybrid dual-SIM card slots. It sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which Asus claims can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds and can register up to five different fingerprints. The ZenFone 3 Laser bears a sandblasted aluminium build with chamfered edges.

For specifications, the ZenFone 3 Laser sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB) on the hybrid dual-SIM card slot.

The biggest highlight of the ZenFone 3 Laser is its 13-megapixel rear camera which comes with laser autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). It also sports an 8-megapixel front facing camera.

The new ZenFone 3 series smartphone is also equipped with a colour correction sensor that automatically adjusts the resulting colours in an image. The ZenFone 3 Laser is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

Apple’s newest smartphones iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are in India at starting price of Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 72,000 respectively. While most early-bird offers that were being promoted by the likes of Amazon earlier this week have dried up, you can still get them at a discounted price in the form of cash backs or exchange.

Flipkart has been taking pre-orders for the device since last week. It is still offering a discount of up to Rs. 24,500 if you exchange your old smartphone for iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. Paytm
The popular online payments platform is offering cashbacks of Rs. 5,000 on the 32GB iPhone 7, Rs. 6,000 on the 128GB iPhone 7 and 32GB iPhone 7 Plus, and Rs. 7,000 on the 256GB iPhone 7 as well as the 128GB and 256GB iPhone 7 Plus.

Snapdeal Snapdeal offers a flat discount of Rs 10,000 to those who buy iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus using American Express cards; similarly, Axis Bank credit and debit card buyers get a 10 percent discount. The e-commerce player is also offering cashback up to Rs.16,000 if you exchange an old smartphone. Though the offers are valid for all variants, only the 256GB iPhone 7 is available for pre-bookings right now. A Snapdeal spokesperson said in a statement to Gadgets 360 that its entire stock is pre-booked and the offers will be revived on the website later on Friday.

The 32GB iPhone 7 has been priced at Rs. 60,000, while the 128GB iPhone 7 has been priced at Rs. 70,000, and the 256GB iPhone 7 has been priced at Rs. 80,000. The 32GB iPhone 7 Plus has been priced at Rs. 72,000, the 128GB iPhone 7 Plus has been priced at Rs. 82,000, while the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus has been priced at Rs. 92,000.

Oppo India on Thursday launched the Oppo F1s Diwali Limited Edition smartphone. Sporting the same Rs. 17,990 price tag as the original, the smartphone will go up for pre-orders from Oppo Concept Stores from October 8 to October 13, and will go up for sale on October 14 via Snapdeal.

The Oppo F1s Diwali Limited Edition smartphone is identical in terms of specifications with the original Oppo F1s smartphone that was launched in India in August. However, it features a redesigned rear panel with a ‘gilded Diwali pattern’ or a flame, alongside signatures from brand ambassadors Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor. The limited edition smartphone comes with Diwali Elements theme that bears special icons amongst other changes.

The Oppo F1s sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture, certainly the highlight of the smartphone. Other selfie-focused features on the smartphone include its Beautify 4.0 app for selfie editing, the Selfie Panorama feature that stitches together three selfies, and the Screen Flash feature.

The smartphone also sports a fingerprint sensor on the home button, and Oppo claims it unlocks the F1s in as little as 0.22 seconds. The company is also touting the fingerprint sensor based shortcuts on the Oppo F1s for making voice calls and launching apps.

The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM card) Oppo F1s runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and sports a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection apart from support for gloved and wet touch input. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC, coupled with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The Oppo F1s bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture, and dual-LED flash. The smartphone comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage that’s expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, GPS, and Bluetooth v4.0. The smartphone is powered by a 3075mAh battery, measures 154.5x76x7.38mm, and weighs 160 grams. Sensors on board include proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and digital compass.

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, the first ever Google-branded smartphones, were unveiled at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday. The new smartphones replace Nexus phones as the platform lead devices designed by Google to showcase the best that Android has to offer.

They sport a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX378 sensor, PDAF, a large f/2.0 aperture, and 1.55-micron pixels. Lenovo India on Tuesday launched the Moto Z and Moto Z Play modular smartphones in India, along with the Moto Mods. The Moto Z has been priced at Rs. 39,999, while the Moto Z Play has been priced at Rs. 24,999. Both smartphones will be available via both Amazon India and Flipkart from 11:59pm on October 17.

The company has also detailed pricing for the Moto Mods (seen above), which connect to the rear of the smartphones via the 16-dot connector interface. If bought alone, the JBL Soundboost costs Rs. 6,999, the Moto Insta-Share Projector costs Rs. 19,999, the Hasselblad True Zoom costs Rs. 19,999, the Incipio offGRID Power Pack costs Rs. 5,999, the Wood and Ballistic Nylong Motorola Style Shell costs Rs. 1,099, while the Leather Style Shell costs Rs. 1,599.

If bought with the smartphones, the Moto Mods have a small discount. Both smartphones run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and have been launched in dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) variants in India. The Moto Z (seen below) will be available in Black with Lunar Grey trim, and White with Fine Gold trim colour variants. The Moto Z Play will be available in Black with Silver trim, and White with Fine Gold trim colour variants. Both smartphones also come with water-repellent nano-coating, and a fingerprint sensor on the home button.

The Moto Z sports a 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) Amoled display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The smartphone bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, optical image stabilisation, and dual-LED flash. It can record 4K video at 30fps. On the front, is a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a wide-angle lens, and its own flash.
It has been launched in its 64GB storage variant with storage expandability via microSD (up to 2TB). Connectivity options on the Moto Z include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on board, however, the company is bundling a 3.5mm-to-USB-Type-C adapter. The smartphone is powered by a 2600mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 24 hours of mixed usage battery life. With the TurboPower charger, the company says 15 minutes of charging will deliver 7 hours of battery life. It measures 153.3×75.3×5.19mm, and weighs 136 grams.

The Moto Z Play (seen below) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It bears a 16-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, dual-lED flash, and 4K video recording at 30fps. On the front is a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a wide-angle lens, and its own flash. The smartphone bears 32GB of inbuilt storage that’s expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

The smartphone bears a 3510mAh battery that’s rated to deliver up to 45 hours of mixed usage battery life, and the bundled TurboPower charger can in 15 minutes charge the phone to deliver 8 hours of battery life. It measures 156.4×76.4×6.99mm, and weighs in at 165 grams.

At a media event in Udaipur on Thursday, Sony India unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia XZ. Pre-bookings for the Sony Xperia XZ open on October 1 via Amazon.in, and in retail stores across the country. The smartphone will be available in India starting October 10, carrying an MRP of Rs. 51,990 and a best buy price of Rs. 49,990. Customers who pre-book the smartphone will get a free Sony SWR30 SmartBand worth Rs. 8,990 with their Xperia XZ unit.

According to Sony, the highlight of the Xperia XZ is its camera, which packs in three rear camera sensors – the CMOS sensor can track and predict movement of objects in frame, reducing the chances of blurred shots; the laser autofocus sensor makes the camera better at locking focus on objects, especially in low-light conditions; and the RGBC-IR sensor aims to provide accurate colour reproduction.

All this is backed by the 6-element f/2.0 Sony G lens, and a 23-megapixel Exmor RS sensor as well as Sony’s own ‘Bionz for mobile’ image processor. You now also get manual control over focusing and shutter speed.

Sony claims the 13-megapixel wide-angle front camera packs an Exmor RS sensor that’s 2.6 times bigger than the selfie camera seen on “regular flagship phones”. As we’ve come to expect from Sony phones, the phone is IP68 certified, making it dust and water resistant. The 5.2-inch full-HD display features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

The Sony Xperia XZ variant launching in India is a hybrid dual-SIM unit, with support for 4G VoLTE on both SIMs. Additionally, this model comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage, compared to 32GB seen on the single-SIM variant. The Snapdragon 820-powered Sony Xperia XZ packs in 3GB of RAM, features USB Type-C connectivity, and is powered by a 2900mAh battery.

Bundled in the package is the Sony UCH12W quick charger, and the Xperia XZ is rated to deliver 5.5 hours of talk time on 10 minutes of charge. The phone also packs in Qnovo adaptive charging and a mechanism that Sony calls ‘intelligent battery charge’, which we will explore in detail in our first impressions piece soon and report on its performance in our detailed review at a later date.

LeEco on Thursday announced that the Le Max 2 will be available at a discounted price of Rs. 17,999 from October 1 to October 6 on LeMall.com. The company also announced that the Le Max 2 will no longer be exclusive to LeMall.com and Flipkart, but will from next week also become available on Amazon India and Snapdeal. The smartphone will be available at its discounted price across Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal as well, but on different days.

Note that the temporary price cut is on the 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant of the Le Max 2, which was launched at Rs. 22,999 in June this year – translating to a discount of Rs. 5,000. As we mentioned, the Le Max 2 will also be available with its discounted price on Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal, during their respective sales.

LeEco will sell Le Max 2 at the same discounted price of Rs. 17,999 during Flipkart’s Big Billion Day, from October 2 to October 6. It will be available at the same price during Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale from October 1 to October 5, and, on Snapdeal’s Unbox Diwali Sale from October 2 to October 6. Notably, LeEco is holding a flash sale on LeMall.com on Friday, and 2,000 participants of the sale will receive a voucher for and additional Rs. 1,000 discount on LeMall.com purchases from October 1 to October 6.

To recall, the Le Max 2 was launched in two variants – 4GB/ 32GB & 6GB/ 64GB – by the Chinese conglomerate at its Future2 event held in June. The 6GB RAM variant was priced at Rs. 29,999, and no discount has been announced for it. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs a 5.7-inch QHD bezel-less ‘Super Retina’ display, 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a 21-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, a 3100mAh battery, and supports 4G LTE in India, apart from VoLTE support.

LeEco iterates that the Le Max 2 has a unique dual fast charging system, combining company’s technology with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 tech, to provide 3.5 hours of battery life with a mere 5 minute charge, along with a Sense ID 3D fingerprint technology.

Intex has launched a new smartphone – the Cloud Q11 – priced at Rs. 4,699. The smartphone is now exclusively available to buy via Amazon India.

The dual-SIM Intex Cloud Q11 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. The company touts that the screen to body ratio on the handset is almost 70 percent. The new Intex smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM. Sporting an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, the Intex Cloud Q11 also sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

It bears 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). Connectivity options include 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Measuring 154×77.2×10.5mm, the Intex Cloud Q11 is backed by a 2800mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 350 hours of standby time, and up to 8 hours of talk-time. It weighs 170 grams and bears an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. The official listing confirms that the Intex Cloud Q11 will be available in Blue and White colour variants.

The domestic handset maker had previously unveiled the Aqua HD 5.5 smartphone priced at Rs. 5,637. The dual-SIM Intex Aqua HD 5.5 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and feature a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. Intex touted that the Aqua HD 5.5’s large display is ideal for gaming, movies, and online streaming.

At an event in Beijing event on Tuesday, Xiaomi launched the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus feature a metal unibody design, with the bigger Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus packing a dual rear camera setup, a strategy adopted by Apple with the latest iPhone models. The new Xiaomi smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 SoC.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s 3GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,000), while the 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant is priced CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 22,900). The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant on the other hand has been priced at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 22,900), while the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant has been priced at CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 26,000). Both smartphones will be available in four colour variants – Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and White. Both the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus will go on sale from Thursday via flash sales on JD.com and Mi.com.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s features a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with NTSC 95 percent colour gamut and a brightness of 600 nits. The company claims the display bears 16 ultra-bright LED lights to help further boost brightness. The Mi 5s Plus on the other hand features a 5.7-inch display with the same resolution, but a brightness of 550 nits, and a NTSC 94 percent colour gamut.

The Mi 5s Plus (seen below) bears a dual rear camera setup, with two 13-megapixel sensors – one for colour, and the other for black and white. The Mi 5s on the other hand bears a single 12-megapixel rear camera, with Sony IMX 378 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. Both smartphones support PDAF autofocus, and both bear a 4-megapixel front-facing camera with 2-micron pixels and an f/2.0 aperture. Other differences between the smartphones include the clock speed of the processor. While the Mi 5s bears a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC, the Mi 5s Plus bears a 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC.

The Mi 5s bears an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on its home button. Placed under glass, the sensor will not get damaged with use, however, Xiaomi claims it offers the same level of accuracy and speed as regular planar fingerprint sensors. The Mi 5s Plus on the other hand has a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

Connectivity options on board include 4G LTE connectivity with 3x carrier aggregation support, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, barometer, and magnetometer.

As expected, Lenovo on Monday launched the Moto E3 Power in India. The smartphone has been priced at Rs. 7,999, and will be exclusively available to buy via Flipkart from Monday midnight. It is eligible for the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer.

The company was earlier anticipated to launch the Moto E3 smartphone in the country, however, it has launched its battery-focused smartphone instead – the Moto E3 Power. The company at the event also revealed that there are over 3 million Moto E users in India.

The Moto E3 Power bears a bigger battery compared to the Moto E3 (3500mAh compared to 2800mAh), however, that’s not the only difference. It sports twice the memory – 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB – and twice the inbuilt storage – 16GB instead of 8GB. Both smartphones support storage expansion via microSD card (up to 32GB). The E3 Power also bears 4G LTE connectivity, with VoLTE support, apart from water repellent nano-coating. It comes with a 10W charger in the box, and the company is claiming the battery can rapidly charge, delivering 5 hours of battery life in 15 minutes.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Moto E3 Power is a dual-SIM (4G+3G) smartphone that bears a smudge 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. It is powered by a 64-bit 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor, and comes with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone packs a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, which offers features like 720p HD video capture and burst mode. It also bears a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a beautification mode.

Connectivity options on board include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, 3G, and 4G LTE (Cat. 4). Sensors include proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and an accelerometer. It weighs in at 153.5 grams, and measures 71.6×143.8×9.55mm. The company is also touting 2 years of free photo storage on Google Photos.

The company is also introducing launch offers that are valid till midnight on Tuesday. An exchange offer of up to Rs. 7,000 has been announced, as well as a no cost EMI plan of Rs. 1,334 per month for 8 months. Buyers will get a free 32GB microSD card bundled, and there is a Rs. 800 cashback offer on SBI debit and credit cards. Buyers will also be able to purchase the Moto Pulse headset for a reduced price of Rs. 499 alongside.
