Christmas is just a few days away, and Amazon India is now offering Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play smartphones at discounted prices. The e-commerce website is offering flat discounts, cashback offers, as well as exchange offers for the phones.

After the flat-out discounts of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,000, and Rs. 500, the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play smartphones are currently available at Amazon India for Rs. 10,499, Rs. 12,499, and Rs. 8,499 respectively.

Apart from the discounted prices and offers for the Moto G4 Play mentioned above, the website is also offering Amazon Gift Cards worth Rs. 1,000 on purchases made through net-banking, credit cards, or debit cards. These gift cards can be used to purchase any item from the website.

Users with Standard Chartered Bank’s credit cards and debit cards will get an additional discount of 10 percent while those with cards from HDFC Bank will get an additional 5 percent off, as part of the offer. The cashback offer is valid for purchases made between December 20 and January 20 (both days inclusive).

Users can further avail more discounts on the Moto G4 smartphones with the help of the exchange offer but the offer is only available in select regions and the discount depends on the model and brand of the users’ phone. In our testing, we found that addresses in Delhi and Mumbai were not eligible for the offer while an address in Bengaluru was eligible.

Notably, all three Moto G4 phones are 4G VoLTE capable and come with access to the Jio Welcome Offer that was recently extended to March 31, 2017.

Ahead of Flipkart’s upcoming Big Shopping Days sale that kicks off from Sunday, the online retailer has offered a glimpse of what to expect in terms of discounts and offers on smartphones and other electronics during the sale. The online retailer has made a dedicated website offering a ‘sneak peek’ to what the Big Shopping Days sale will have for consumers.

Unfortunately, the online retailer has still not listed the exact pricing for the products but has given the large catalogue of products available during the sale.

During the Big Shopping Days sale, Flipkart will be selling the OnePlus 3 at under Rs. 20,000 which means the smartphone will be available after a comprehensive discount considering it was unveiled in India at Rs. 27,999 earlier this year – and is still available at that price, exclusively on Amazon. It’s not known how Flipkart swung this deal for its sale, and OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei also expressed his confusion regarding this turn of events, with a tweet on Friday pointing to Amazon India’s exclusivity on the OnePlus 3 in India.

Some of the other smartphones that will be available after huge discounts listed by Flipkart include the Moto E3 Power (which is currently available at Rs. 7,999), iPhone 6 16GB (currently available at Rs. 36,990), Lenovo K5 Note, LeEco Le 2 (currently available at Rs. 11,999), Samsung Galaxy On8 (currently available at Rs. 15,900), Samsung Galaxy On Nxt (currently available at Rs. 18,490), and Lenovo Phab 2 (currently available at Rs. 11,999).

Apart from smartphones, Flipkart will also offer discounts on other electronic gadgets such as the Apple MacBook Pro laptop (currently available at Rs. 56,990) and Samsung Gear Fit 2 (currently available at Rs. 15,000). Flipkart will also have the Apple Watch and Moto 360 Gen 2 available at flat discounts. Some of the other products include Skullcandy headphones (currently available at Rs. 1,999), iPro Powerbank 10400mAh (currently available at Rs. 2,799), Mi 10000mAh Power Bank (currently available at Rs. 1,299), and Philips USB Trimmer (currently available at Rs. 1,199).

Other tech deals include televisions from Micromax, Vu, and Samsung. Some of other products that will be available under Flipkart’s Big Shopping Days sale include washing machines, and refrigerators.

Flipkart is also offering the Motorola Pulse 2 wired headset and a chevron shock proof case for the Moto M with a discount of up to 32 percent if purchased along with the Moto M smartphone.

The Moto M is Motorola’s first all-metal smartphone, and the key features include a fingerprint sensor and Dolby Atmos support. Motorola has confirmed via a tweet that the Moto M, which was launched in India on Tuesday, will receive the Android Nougat update soon. To recap, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based Moto M was launched in India starting at Rs. 15,999. The smartphone is Motorola’s first all-metal offering. The device sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution. The Moto M packs a 2.2GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor and is available in two variants – 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage. The Moto M sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with Phase-Detection Autofocus (PDAF), and an 8-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE (with support for Indian LTE bands), USB Type-C (USB 3.1), NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Meanwhile, a recent leak suggests that the Moto X Play will receive the Android 7.1.1 update, skipping the Android 7.0 update entirely. Since the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update started rolling out last week, it is unsure as to exactly which Nougat update Moto M will be receiving.

Motorola did not let out a specific date from when the Nougat update will start rolling out. The tweet, however, hints that the rollout will begin soon enough so Moto M users should keep a look out for it.

Lenovo’s Moto brand back in October revealed a list of devices that would receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. The company confirmed that the Moto Z lineup and the Moto G4would be the first ones to receive the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update. Motorola’s Moto X Play was also promised to receive Android 7.0 though if a new leak is to be believed, the handset may directly receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.

The Motorola Moto X Play has been spotted running Android 7.1.1 Nougat in GFXBench benchmark listing. The handset spotted in the benchmarks can be expected to be under the company’s soak test, which is Motorola’s process of releasing the update to select users for verifying and fixing any issues, and then rolling it out the general public. Considering that there has been no announcement from Motorola regarding the Android 7.1.1 update, it may take few weeks for the rollout to happen. The company is also expected to introduce few Moto-specific software features in the Android 7.1.1.

To recall, Android 7.1.1 Nougat update started rolling out to compatible Nexus and Pixel devices last week. The new update also included the monthly Android security update for December. The Android 7.1.1 was touted as “an update to Nougat” by Google and added new emojis that would reflect gender equality.

Apart from emojis, Google also added support for GIF images directly from keyboard on supported apps. Google Allo, Google Messenger, and Hangouts are some of the apps that will support GIF images. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update also brings app shortcuts directly from home screen. Users can launch actions on any apps by simply long pressing the app icon.

Moto M, the metal-clad smartphone that was unveiled last month in China, will be launched in India on Tuesday. Lenovo, the parent company of Motorola, has started sending out media invites for an event on Tuesday where the company will hold the Moto M India launch. The company had earlier teased the launch of the smartphone’s India launch, but has said nothing about the official Moto M release date.

The first all-metal Moto smartphone, the Moto M price in India is expected to be around Rs. 20,000 considering it was launched in China at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 19,700).

Apart from sporting an all-metal body, the Moto M features antenna bands running on the top and bottom edges at the back. The new Moto M runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 2.5D IPS display with a pixel density of 401ppi. Moto M is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio P15 processor clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It packs 32GB inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). The dual-SIM Moto smartphone features a hybrid dual-SIM slot, which means it supports a Micro-SIM or microSD card in the second SIM slot.

Moto M sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, an f/2.0 aperture, and supports PDAF (phase detection autofocus). It also sports an 8-megapixel front sensor. The Moto M smartphone is backed by a 3050mAh battery, and also comes with support for fast charging. Much like several Moto smartphones, the Moto M also comes with splash proof design (or nano-coating) which means it can bear light rain splashes. The handset supports 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (USB 3.1), NFC, and 3.5mm connectivity options.

Despite numerous reports about the Moto X series being discontinued in favour of the Moto Z series, Lenovo in June said that the Moto X series is “alive and well”. Now, a series of leaked images claimed to be of the Moto X (2017) is doing the rounds of the rumour mills, though some reports are tipping it may be a new Moto Z series handset.

The leaked Moto X (2017) images, posted by Slashleaks, show the smartphone with a metal body, and a round camera panel that seems quite similar to that on Moto Z. Interestingly, the Moto X (2017) in the leaked images does not have any pins at the bottom-back, which can enable the support for Moto Mods. The Moto X (2017) smartphone bears a home button, which is thought to sport the fingerprint sensor.

Considering that Lenovo has already clarified earlier this year that its upcoming Moto Z flagship devices will come with support for attachable mods, it seems unlikely that the leaked smartphone in the leaked images is from Moto Z series. Earlier this month, some other images of the alleged Moto X (2017) smartphone were leaked by techdroider, which also showcased a similar round camera panel at the back of the device. The Moto X (2017) leaked images by techdroider also lacked any pins for MotoMods support.

The Moto X (2017) smartphone is expected to be made available in Gold and Silver colour variants, as can be seen from the leaked images as well. However, other specifications about Moto X (2017) have still not been leaked. As it goes with every other leak, we will suggest you to take this one with a pinch of salt as well.

Lenovo’s Moto brand recently announced two new mods, that is, a 3000mAh Mophie Battery Pack and an Incipio Car Dock that allows charging and comes with a 3.5mm audio output.

There has so far been very little information regarding Motorola’s followup to the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones. However, some alleged images of what could be the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus have surfaced on the Internet.

The images and specifications of the fifth generation Moto G devices were leaked online in the form of a screenshot posted by The Android Soul. The images show the front of the devices and are not clear enough to make out any notable difference from their fourth-gen counterparts. If the images are true, it seems like the Moto G5 Plus will keep the fingerprint sensor on the front while the Moto G5 will not get the sensor.

moto g5 specs g5 plus Moto G5 Specs Moto G5 Plus Specs

On the specifications front, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus seem to be identical, except the former will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera while the latter will get a 16-megapixel camera. With a 5.5-inch full-HD display, 5-megapixel front camera, and an octa-core processor for both the devices, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus sound incredibly similar to their predecessors. As always, until there’s an official confirmation, you should take all this with a pinch of salt.

Furthermore, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Pus will be offered with a 16GB storage, but only the Moto G5 Plus will get a 32GB variant as well. The screenshot also suggests Turbo Charging feature for both the devices.

As for the operating system, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus are expected to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. The Android 7.0 Nougat began rolling out for the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in October. Meanwhile, the Android 7.1.1 has also begun rolling out to a few Android One users and is expected to roll out for Nexus and Pixel owners in the coming days.

Coming back to the Moto G5 and Moto G5 plus, the images and specs are among the first leaks on the devices that have appeared on the Internet, so it’s best to wait for additional confirmation before getting too excited. Lastly, the leak also suggests a March 8 release for the devices, and though the market for the devices is yet to be revealed, you can expect India to be on that list.
