35+ Memorial Day weekend freebies and deals – Money Perception

A record number of Florida travelers are planning Memorial Day weekend getaways this year.

Thanks to higher wages and lower gas prices, more than 2.08 million Floridians are expected to travel, the largest number in 12 years, according to a AAA holiday travel forecast. Fuel prices averaged $2.34 nationwide and $2.32 in Florida.  Nationally, more than 39.3 million will travel this weekend.

Not surprisingly, Orlando is once again No. 1 on AAA’s Top 10 hottest destinations list this year, with Rome, London, Dublin and Vancouver following.

Lucky for us, we don’t need to travel far to have free fun or save at holiday sales on Monday as we honor and salute the sacrifices made by our military heroes to keep American free and strong.
